Account Deletion Policy

Effective 2026-05-30 · Version 0.1-draft

You can delete your Orvica account at any time. This page explains how, what gets removed, and what we retain.

How to delete your account

Sign in, then visit /account/security and choose Delete account. The action requires confirmation. The request takes effect immediately for product surfaces and within a short grace window for downstream cleanup.

What is deleted

  • Profile data and authentication identifiers;
  • Bills, subscriptions, savings goals, shared expenses, cards, and Plaid links you own;
  • Helix workspaces, patients, medications, refills, appointments, and care notes you own;
  • Volt merchant profile and saved payment links you own (does not retroactively void prior payments);
  • Notifications, preferences, devices, and sessions.

What we retain — and why

Some information is retained after account deletion for legal, accounting, fraud-prevention, or operational reasons:

  • Audit logs. Records of administrative actions are retained for security investigation and dispute resolution. Personal identifiers are minimized.
  • Payment records (Volt). Stripe retains transaction records under its own retention policy; this is independent of Orvica account state.
  • Communications (limited). Email and SMS delivery logs are retained for 90 days for deliverability investigation, then deleted.
  • Aggregated analytics. Non-identifying counts retained indefinitely for product analytics.

Things you should do before deleting

  • Disconnect any linked banks from /finance/plaid;
  • Settle outstanding Smart Splits or notify participants;
  • Download a copy of your data via the export tools if you want a personal record;
  • For Volt merchants: ensure no pending payouts; coordinate with Stripe directly for full account closure.

Reactivation

For a short grace window after deletion you may contact support@orvica.co to request reactivation. After the grace window, deletion is irreversible.
