Helix Health Terms
Version 1.2 · Effective 2026-06-19
These terms govern your use of Helix, Orvica's care-coordination product. They supplement the Orvica General Terms of Service. To the extent of any conflict, these Helix Health Terms control with respect to Helix only.
1. No medical advice
Helix is provided for informational, organizational, administrative, and care-coordination purposes only. Helix does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, prescription guidance, emergency response, clinical decision support, or professional healthcare services.
2. Not for emergency use
Helix is not designed, intended, or certified for emergency use. In a medical emergency, call 911 or contact emergency services immediately.
3. Medication safety disclaimer
Medication names, pill identification results, refill reminders, interaction hints, dosage notes, and other medication-related information may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or based on user-entered information. You must verify all medication information with a licensed healthcare professional, pharmacist, prescription label, or other authoritative source before relying on it.
4. No provider relationship
Use of Helix does not create a physician-patient, pharmacist-patient, nurse-patient, therapist-patient, or any other licensed-healthcare-professional relationship with Orvica.
5. User responsibility
Users are solely responsible for confirming the accuracy of health records, medication lists, appointments, caregiver notes, reminders, and any information entered into or generated by Helix.
6. Not a medical device
Unless expressly stated in writing, Helix is not cleared, approved, authorized, or regulated as a medical device by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
7. Authority over third-party data
You represent and warrant that you have all rights, permissions, consents, authorizations, and legal authority necessary to submit, upload, store, process, disclose, transmit, or otherwise use any information relating to another person through Helix, including a minor, dependent, patient, care recipient, caregiver, household member, or healthcare provider. You may submit information about a minor or dependent only if you are legally authorized to do so (e.g., as a parent, guardian, personal representative, authorized caregiver, or other person with lawful authority).
8. AI-assisted features
Some Helix features use third-party large-language-model providers (currently Anthropic) for summarization or document parsing. AI outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate for your circumstances. You must independently verify all AI-generated outputs before relying on them. PHI is never sent to any AI provider that has not countersigned a Business Associate Agreement with Orvica.
9. HIPAA scope
Orvica acts as a HIPAA business associate only where Orvica creates, receives, maintains, or transmits PHI on behalf of a HIPAA covered entity or another business associate under a written Business Associate Agreement. Consumer use of Helix outside such a relationship is governed by the Orvica Consumer Health Data Privacy Notice rather than HIPAA.
10. Telehealth and virtual sessions
Helix may include scheduling, video-room launch links, intake context, and session-note tools for virtual visits. Video connectivity may rely on third-party infrastructure and depends on each participant's device, browser, permissions, and network connection. Helix telehealth features are not a substitute for emergency care, and users should not use a virtual session link for urgent or life-threatening situations.
Users are responsible for obtaining any consent required for telehealth, recording, caregiver participation, text messaging, or disclosure of information under applicable state law, professional rules, and payer requirements. Orvica does not provide clinical licensure, supervision, payer credentialing, or emergency coverage for virtual sessions.
11. Secure messaging
Helix messaging is intended for care coordination, refill context, administrative follow-up, and non-emergency communication. Messages may not be reviewed immediately. Do not use Helix messaging for emergencies, urgent symptoms, or time-sensitive instructions unless a verified provider has specifically told you to do so through a separate clinical workflow.
Delivery receipts, read indicators, email notifications, and SMS notifications are convenience signals only. They do not prove that a provider, patient, caregiver, pharmacy, or staff member has reviewed, understood, accepted, or acted on a message.
12. Refill and prescription workflows
Refill requests, refill reminders, draft refill batches, medication stock alerts, and prescription context are workflow tools. A request created in Helix is not a prescription, refill authorization, medical order, medication administration record, or pharmacy confirmation unless and until a properly licensed professional completes the applicable external prescribing, dispensing, or clinical process.
- Licensed users are responsible for verifying patient identity, medication, dose, quantity, directions, contraindications, controlled-substance rules, state-specific prescribing rules, and pharmacy requirements.
- Caregivers and patients are responsible for confirming medications against the prescription label, provider instructions, and pharmacist guidance.
- Helix may surface refill urgency or stock status based on user-entered data; those alerts may be inaccurate if doses, dates, quantities, or dispense history are wrong.
13. Provider features
Verified-prescriber features (refill workflows, structured patient charts, BAA-gated workspaces) are released only to users who complete NPI verification and execute a BAA with Orvica. Marketing copy describing such features applies to verified provider users only.
14. Communications and notification preferences
Helix may send email, in-product, push, and SMS notifications for refills, appointments, messages, care requests, security events, and account administration. Non-security reminders can be customized or disabled from notification settings. SMS is governed by the Orvica SMS Terms. Security, privacy, and legally required notices may still be sent even if you disable optional reminders.
15. Order of precedence
For Helix-specific matters: a signed BAA controls over these Helix Health Terms, which control over the Orvica General Terms of Service, which control over any non-binding marketing copy.
